Documental projects often begin with a need communities or individuals are experiencing. Our co-creation project with Villages in Action grew out rural community hubs being quite separated after two years of Covid and its aftermath.
Makaton jukebox grew out of the need for disparate members of the local Learning Disabled community to come together and have some fun away from the stresses of life, whilst practicing their signing.
Props responded to the isolation and stigma felt by people in a range of support roles. Documental also collaborates with universities as creative co-researchers on work which has the potential to influence policy.
