At Documental we LOVE musicals, the way they come in all shapes and sizes, and the way they appeal to all kinds of audiences on different levels. We have been working with Exeter Northcott Theatre to foster the New Musical Theatre scene in the Southwest.
Twice a year we host Newsicals, a showcase for new Musical Theatre Writing at Exeter Northcott Barnfield Theatre. It is a chance for composers, book writers, lyricists and performers to meet and share ambitious new work they are cooking up. At our events so far, we have had the first listen of some amazing songs and stories. Sing and Sign Jukebox Choir are a regular fixture at Newsicals, singing and signing a short set of iconic songs from the musicals amongst the new work.
